About
Steeped in Global Cycling eCommerce
T5 is led by Brendan Quirk, co-founder and longtime CEO of Competitive Cyclist. It started as a two-man retail bike shop and grew into North America's largest and most economically successful pure play e-commerce bicycle retailer. Quirk sold the company in 2011 to Backcountry.com, a subsidiary of the Liberty Interactive Group (NASDAQ: LINTA), now part of Qurate Retail Group (NASDAQ: QRTEA.)
He then served as the President – North America of Rapha Racing Limited. He had P&L and strategic ownership for the North American business, while also overseeing key global functions as a member of the leadership team leading up to a sale of the company to RZC Investments in 2017.
Committed to American Cycling Culture
Most recently, he served as the Cycling Program Director of the Runway Group, a Bentonville-based company founded by Steuart and Tom Walton. His work focused on triangulating for-profit investment, philanthropy, and public policy to drive cycling-focused economic development and quality of life initiatives in Northwest Arkansas.
He serves as Chairman of the Board of USA Cycling, and also sits on the selection committee of the Rapha Foundation.
Why T5?
And the name “T5” – What does it mean? It’s a tribute to the love of the bike.
Europe is the place of dreams for Americans who crave cycling adventure. Whether it’s a day spent e-Biking through a major city, riding a sportif like l’Etape du Tour, or flowing through Alpine singletrack -- the richness of European history and cycling culture is a draw like none other. And it seems that every time we’ve flown over to make those dreams real, we’ve routed through Heathrow’s Terminal 5 (T5.) It’s a portal to lifelong cycling memories.
